Bart Porter, news bureau editor for Redemtech, is no stranger to expressing opinions and recording observations. Trained as a newspaper journalist, Bart won several editorial, reporting and humor column awards from the Ohio Newspaper Association and the Associated Press, and State of Ohio Senate recognition for newspaper editing. He has worked as a writer, reporter and editor for 30 years in a variety of newspaper, academic and corporate venues.
In transferring his journalistic interests to the corporate environment, Bart served as a communications manager and news director for several major technology corporations, including Sprint, MCI and Verizon.
As corporate blogger for Redemtech, Bart surveys topical news items pertaining to data security, privacy, the regulatory landscape, compliance, corporate social responsibility, e-waste and other environmental issues, and converses with Redemtech experts and customers on various topics. He has contributed to the Redemtech Blog since its inception in 2007.
In addition to blogging and his involvement in other social media conduits at Redemtech, Bart in 2007 launched (re) bureau, a corporate news service that consolidates and summarizes industry news in an easy-to-read format.
