Appalachia Ohio Zero Waste Initiative’s Inaugural Waste to Wealth Summit

Join me in Athens, Ohio, on September 13th and 14th for the Appalachia Ohio Zero Waste Initiative (AOZWI) inaugural Waste to Wealth Summit at the Ohio University Inn & Conference Center. Check out what’s happening. Regional solid waste and recycling stakeholders from Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia will be examining how to build rural wealth by increasing resource recovery.

Thinking from “Zero Waste” has the potential to change the quality of our lives and our livelihoods. Come be a part of folks working toward practicable solutions for the environment and the economy.

I’ll be part of a panel called “Approaches to Zero Waste and Recycling Policy: Incentives and Mandates” where we’ll give examples of programs, discussing their merits and challenges. The panel will be facilitated by Andrew Booker, Supervisor, Solid Waste Management District, of the Ohio EPA. Other panelists include Carol Throckmorton from the West Virginia Solid Waste Management Board, Logan County (OH) Commissioner John Bayliss, Recycling Coordinator and Administrative Assistant from Albermarle Regional Solid Waste Authority Anne Blindt, and Martin Seaman, Principal and Director of Sales and Communications, Resource Recycling Systems. Hope to see you there!
